Senior Accountant

Woodcock and Associates has an immediate opening for Senior Accountant.  The role involves significant client contact and high-level work managing GAAP and tax issues for large business accounts. You will have the opportunity to mentor others while pursuing your own professional growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct assurance engagements to include audits, reviews and compilations
  • Conduct tax engagements to include corporate, partnership, and individual issues
  • Conduct tax research, planning, compliance, consulting and business transaction structuring services
  • Execute work procedures over various financial statement areas including cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, expense analysis, trial balance and financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrate good workpaper techniques and understand objectives of workpapers
  • Identify and communicate accounting and tax matters to the engagement team
  • Represent the Firm in a favorable and professional manner with clients, at events, and within the professional community
  • Long hours during tax season (January through April) are balanced by the accrual of comp time

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Five years of accounting experience required with a MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRM
  • Experience with construction and government contracts a plus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software
  • Experience with Creative Solutions and Ultra Tax Software a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and an interest in contributing to the professional community
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to client questions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of Firm and client information
  • Sharp analytical skills enhanced by a commitment to professional development
  • Desire to work closely with Partners and clients to provide exceptional service
